Today we started coding the motors, and progressed with the horizontal electronics board. The build team has the frame for the turret done and and is also gearing up the lazy susan. We tried putting on the belts today but the load caused a shaft to bend so we’ll be trying again tomorrow with a different method that will hopefully keep all shafts unbent.

Today we started assembling the belts and put the rollers we made on the robot. We had a limited time at the Army station we work at on the weekends so the later half of the meeting was mostly us moving parts back to Parkville.

Today the vertical electronics board was assembled and we also fabricated the rollers for the belt system. We also have progressed significantly in CAD. Tomorrow the belt system’s belts assembly will begin.

Today was a sort of mini meeting that was a preliminary for the weekend during which we also starting building the horizontal electronic board. It has the netbook we are using for extra processing to use the kinect.

Today we realized the outside of the lazy susan was turning instead of the inside so that was redone. A good chunk of the vertical electronics board has been designed and just needs to be physically built. Some of the chains were a bit loose or too tight so that was also redone. Essentially we looked over mistakes and fixed them before they made trouble later. We also added the idlers and wrote the code to know where the position of the basketball is at all times in the robot. For Chairman’s, we’ve also finished the questions for the video interview and that will be recorded next week.
